Laptop computers are the greatest thing to ever come along in the computing industry. Computers used to be so large that they would fill an entire building, now laptop computers that weigh between one and three kilograms are personal portable computers. It really is amazing.

Acer Laptops came in second place in Splise’s laptop comparison. Along with Del, Acer is one of the most popular and reputable manufacturers of laptops and personal computers. Since it’s inception in 1976, Acer continues to lead the way in removing the barriers between people and technology, allowing people to interact with computers to perform meaningful communication and tasks.
Acer was renamed as such in 1987, which had previously been known as Multitech which was established in 1976. The global headquarters are located in Taipei County, Taiwan. Acer’s most popular notebook is the TravelMate series with umpteen individual models from which to choose. Acer offers several different laptops that are sold with Linux or even dual bootable Linux operating systems. This is certainly a nice option for those of us who prefer Linux.

Who Buys Cheap Laptops
Cheap laptops are such a gamble. I have one friend that swears by cheap laptops. I think that it is because he was extremely fortunate the first time he purchased one. He didn’t really notice just how bad some of the other cheap laptops were.
I have another friend that has bad luck with cheap laptops. She refuses to spend enough on a computer. She is almost always in the middle of some type of crisis involving one of her cheap laptops. I am pretty sure that she has spent enough on cheap laptops since I’ve known her to buy two top of the line models.
I’ve been looking for an IBM Thinkpad. I looked through and found some with a search for cheap laptops on eBay. I am just a little suspicious with the disparity in costs between a used laptop and a new one. I really don’t like overpaying for technology, I don’t think anybody does.
I think that there really are a lot of hidden costs for cheap laptops. They cost you worry and time and sometimes the cost of another computer. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there selling broken laptops disguised as cheap laptops. This secondary market will continue to flourish as more and more laptops are produced and purchased.
Cheap laptops aren’t for everyone. My father just bought a laptop from Dell that cost $2300. He is extremely thrilled with his purchase. I can’t imagine paying that much for a laptop. I would rather stay with cheap laptops because if something in my computer screwed up and I had paid that much for it, I might have a heart attack.
As with all technology and consumer items, cheap laptops have a very specific market that is different than the market that uses the Dell catalog. The people that buy cheap laptops will likely never be fully persuaded to pay full price for any cutting edge or top of the line item. The only way they are changing sides is by winning the lottery.
There are some people that really desire the newer laptops and end up buying cheap laptops strictly because of budgetary concerns. Dell offers a laptop at $1000 that is great and not too much. If someone can save or finance, this is a better deal than the cheap laptops for half that price.
Places I Take My Dell Laptop
I take my Dell laptop everywhere. There are internet hotspots everywhere it seems. I like to get out of the house to work on my Dell laptop and I find the best places to go are the places with free Wi-Fi internet access.
A sure bet for internet access is Panera Bread. I take my Dell laptop with me every time that I go there. It is fun to sit and eat great food while I surf the internet.
There are several places in the Texas town that I live in that have free Wi-Fi internet access. I go to Dickey’s BBQ every Tuesday night for ribs. I make sure to take my Dell laptop with me every time. I get a lot of work on my email done while I’m eating some really tasty ribs.
Late at night, I like to go to Baskin Robbins. I take my Dell laptop with me so that I can use the instant messenger program to talk to my friends. It is fun to go and eat ice cream while I chat.
On Thursdays, Cellerman’s Pub is the place to be. I meet up with other college students for a night out. Sometimes I bring my Dell laptop and sometimes I don’t. It just really depends on who I think will be at the pub and what I have that is of pressing concern.
I have had a lot of fun taking my Dell laptop with me to places like The Zone McKinney. I try to get there on Wednesdays because they have $1 hot dogs and $5 laser tag. I made the mistake of showing up there once on a Saturday afternoon with my Dell laptop in tow to do some work and there were so many kids there playing it was a madhouse.
The most relaxing place in McKinney with free Wi-Fi internet access for my Dell laptop has got to be Streamers Coffee. I think that Streamers Coffee has the best baristas in the business and I don’t mind driving for 45 minutes to get there.

One of my favorite laptop accessories is a laptop stand that makes me more comfortable with my laptop. It is adjustable to 360 degrees. There was also another stand that I liked but didn’t get called Cool Travel that was for use while traveling.
It seems like I get at least three calls per day about batteries as laptop accessories. We carry a full line of batteries for laptops and notebooks. I get a lot of calls about specific models and I have never had someone ask me for a battery that I didn’t have or couldn’t get.
Laptop Coolers are all the rage in laptop accessories. They have a slim and smart design of the cooling pad system. They use large, high-performance and extra quiet fans to cool down a laptop. The laptop coolers are really quite ingenius.
Other laptop accessories that get a lot of enquiries are the laptop AC/Auto/Air Adapters. People just have to use their laptops everywhere these days and one of these devices makes that possible. You can even use your computer while driving. It is amazing.
Women call for different laptop accessories than men do. One of my biggest sellers to women is laptop backpack bags. They are really handsome and make it so a laptop is carried in style.
Teenagers also want laptop accessories, but they aren’t usually calling about batteries or backpacks. They seem to call more about web cameras. I think that this new technology is astounding and interesting. I wonder what I would have done with web cameras when I was fifteen.
We got in some new laptop accessories before Christmas and I was happy to find the new Pegasus III Infrared & Serial 56K V.90+ Data/Fax Modem. This sold really well for businessmen during the holidays. Sales slowed down in mid-February, though.
Unfortunately, there is a need for laptop accessories to prevent theft. We sell computer security locks for all types of systems. It is too bad that this is one of the necessary laptop accessories if you are going to carry your laptop everywhere you go.
Teenagers also seem to be interested in our Slim DVD Drive and laptop DVD burner; I know I would have loved to have had my music on CDs when I was a teenager. I think burning CDs is really cool.
I still get calls for USB Memory Watches, Flash Drives, USB ports, Firewire Hubs and USB Mini Hubs all the time. These are laptop accessories that never seem to go out of style. The sales for these items stay pretty strong year-round.
